Sr. Systems Engineer designs and develops systems-level software and provides systems support by performing the duties outlined below. Engineer must have experience with Fedora Core and CentOS Operating Systems. Engineer must have experience developing in a Network System environment with more than 2 years of hands on core system development, kernel design and development experience. Additional development experience in Java Front End development as well as Core Java Systems Development will be preferred. Experience with Network Monitoring tools development and Network Management tools would be a plus.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Analyzes the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing the usage of computer resources.
- Applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
- Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software.
- Provides assistance and routine consultation to users in the development of operating systems and software.
- Implements tools and facilitates text formatting and file conversion and transfer.
- Plans and executes software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces.
- Works with others to develop alternative system and software designs.
- Installs, configures, and tests workstations with supporting hardware, software, and networking components.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in CS, EE or related field.
- Solid technical skills and networking background
- At least 2 years of relevant software industry experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.

The person in this role will play an important role in a fast-paced business environment where individual employees take ownership. We are an innovative industry leader providing network and application performance management solutions to Retail, Hospitality, Banking and Education industries. We are growing very rapidly and are looking for Pre Sales Systems Engineer(s) to support our sales efforts. You will be a key member of the sales and support team whose goal is to assist the company in achieving its sales goals by selling business focused technology solutions into large Enterprise accounts. You will provide in-depth technical support in pre- and post-sales situations including demonstrations, pilots, network and application assessments, reporting, competitive analysis, etc.- Be proficient in demonstration skills and be able to show all Nexvu products and articulate features, functions and benefits.
- Integrate prospect needs with Nexvu product offerings and create solutions.
- Develop successful implementation plans and lead customers through them. Be actively involved during initial projects and prototypes.
- Conduct a successful technical audit meeting with customers to clarify environment for trial situations. Install and manage trials of Nexvu software.
- Conduct and lead Network and Application Performance Assessments and Health Checkups.
- Create Statement of Works for Proof of Concepts. Act as project leader in the development of benchmarks, proposals, and other pre-sales activities.
Job Qualifications:
- 3-5 years minimum in Sales Application Engineering in APM/NPM field.
- Knowledge of Linux and Virtualization platforms.
- Programming experience in third or fourth generation languages. Good working knowledge of database management systems and/or file structures.
- Willingness to travel.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of one or more systems including Network General/Network Associates/Netscout Sniffer, Sniffer Distributed, Sniffer InfiniStream, Netscout AFMon, OpNet ACE, NetQoS Superagent, Fluke, Niksun NetDetector, NetVCR, SolarWinds, etc.
- Winning and 'can-do' attitude. Ability to isolate and solve technical problems.
- Ability to understand new technologies and industry trends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
