Analyzer 3.0

Analyzer 3.0 is a Powerful, Cost-Effective Solution for Network and Application Performance Monitoring, Planning and Analysis

NEXVU’s Application Performance Analyzer is a network-based, passive mode, performance monitoring and analysis solution that enables you to proactively measure, monitor and optimize your data networks, network based services and mission critical business applications. Through the use of flow based technology, Analyzer continuously “watches” your data network identifying active conversations between client workstations and application servers. With a library of over 3200+ out-of-the-box signatures, combined with the ability to add your own, Analyzer can easily identify the majority of the services and applications traversing the network. Once identified, Analyzer continuously measures and tracks over 35 health, utilization and performance metrics throughout the life of those conversations. This is truly a cost-effective and powerful network and application performance solution.

Focused Proactive Management of Your Data Networks and Business Applications

Unlike other performance management tools that require you to monitor everything equally, NEXVU Analyzer employs the use of static Groups that allow you to isolate what you measure and monitor to those applications, servers, or devices that are most important to the operations of the Business.

Introducing SmartGroups™

SmartGroups™ are groups of applications, servers or devices that are dynamically formed based on a set of rules. For example, the Top Best Performing Application is a Smartgroup™ that contains the list of all Top Performing Applications wihtin the managed environment at any given point in time.

Features

Continuous Real-time Monitoring of Critical Applications and Infrastructure Components

Continuous Real-time Monitoring of Critical Applications and Infrastructure ComponentsThrough the use of rules driven intelligence, Analyzer can be configured to monitor and alert on literally hundreds of different services, service elements and activities.

  • Establish correlation rules based on time of day, application, server, client and in the case of HTTP based application, URL patterns.
  • Configure up to four levels of thresholds based on discrete values or baseline deviations.
  • Create SNMP Trap and/or Email notifications.
  • Drill down from service to component to the individual conversations.
  • Generate ad-hoc and scheduled Service Level Reports

Advanced Reporting Capability

Advanced Reporting CapabilityWith the ability to create ad-hoc reports and historical reports business operations personnel will be armed to make informed business decisions. An extensive reporting engine with custom report building capability enables administrators to schedule, publish, automate delivery and view performance reports.

  • Multi-viewing and custom formatting options allow for flexible report generation and publishing.
  • Interactive charting provides powerful ad-hoc reporting for detailed analysis, planning and service level assessment.
  • Multiple client support allows for online, interactive viewing of reports through either the Nexvu client or through any HTTP 1.0 compliant web browser.
  • Scheduled reports can be posted for online viewing or sent via email in .pdf, .csv or image file format.
  • Time aligned multi-chart capability allows for easy correlation across multiple report elements.

Troubleshooting and Analysis

Troubleshooting and Analysis

Analyzer includes a powerful set of analysis tools, including packet flow and packet level capture capability to facilitate deep troubleshooting of the hard-to-find problems. Packets are presented in association with a flow in a manner that is most effective for an engineer interested in the detailed application behavior.

  • Multi-session packet capture allows for up to four simultaneous capture sessions with continuous stream-to-disk.
  • Multi-user viewing enables users to view decoded capture sessions simultaneously for easy group level collaboration.
  • Flow reconstruction provides flow based viewing of the captured sessions and flow based metrics.
  • Extensive pre and post filtering with support for saving and loading filter scripts.
  • Ability to write and import visual decodes through an XML based decode development environment.

Integration with Third Party Tools

Through its open interface support, Analyzer can be easily integrated to existing Event Consoles, Network Element Management Systems or Reporting Packages.

  • Results for monitored services are available via SNMP v1, v2, v3 for integration into existing Event Consoles, Element Management Tools and Root Cause Analysis solutions.
  • Analyzer can be deployed in a probe configuration, supporting RMON I/II with High Capacity Counters via SNMP v1, v2 or v3 for integration into existing network reporting tools.
  • Within a Netflow® environment, Analyzer can be configured to export Netflow® records in v5 or v8 (with aggregation) to a single or multiple collectors.
  • Users can leverage enterprise reporting packages by accessing Analyzer via ODBC.
